参加本次测试的共有16款反垃圾邮件产品，要求在25万种混合了各种邮件样本中，至少三次检测率高于96%且误报率较低才能获得认证，最终全部产品都通过了测试。其中表现最突出的四款产品分别是Symantec's Brightmail,、Microsoft Forefront,、M86 MailMarshall Sophos Email Appliance。VB100垃圾邮件过滤测试总监Martijn Grooten强调，该结果只是反映是较好的一面，用户不能掉以轻心。因为通常厂商都是挑选最优秀的产品参加测试，而用户则较少使用到高端产品，再加上垃圾邮件演变非常迅速，所以仍需保持较高安全警惕。
