微软3月份承认在开发 Windows 7 SP1，但没有披露公测版的发布时间。微软发布Windows 7 SP1公测版的时间表比Vista SP1公测版提前2个月。微软2007年12月份——Vista发布11个月后发布了Vista SP1公测版，Windows 7 SP1公测版发布时间距离Windows 7仅为9个月。微软今天重申，Windows 7 SP1不包含任何新功能。微软Windows部门高管加夫里拉·舒斯特(Gavriella Schuster)周一通过官方博客称，“SP1不会包含任何新功能。Windows 7 SP1只是过去通过Windows Update发布的补丁软件的合集以及根据用户反馈开发的补丁软件。”

　　Windows 7 SP1中最值得注意的一个功能是升级版Remote Desktop客户端，它与Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1中新的远程访问平台配合使用。Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1公测版下个月发布。

　　按Vista SP1发布时间估算，Windows 7 SP1正式版发布时间应当在年底前——最早可能为11月份。
