微软声称将延长对Windows 98 和 Millennium 的付费支持至2006年6月底。微软先前声称对Windows 98 和 Windows 98 Second Edition (SE)的“延长支持”到今年1月16日（星期五），而对Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me)的支持到12月底结束！
