微软再次宣布将于10月21日也就是周三午夜开始在70家门店（包括便利商店）中挑选10家门店进行Surface 2/Surface Pro 2的首发活动。根据消息称位于佛罗里达州奥兰多的微软商店将会邀请音乐家Pitbull到场，并会进行丰富多彩的走秀活动。

    午夜销售对于微软来说是非常罕见的，去年10月初代Surface上市发售的时候微软曾将30多家便利商店进行开放购买。上周在美国市场上微软已经宣布两款新型号Surface 2已经接受预订，截至目前微软也为公布两款型号的预订数量。
