Hi, and Merry Christmas!
I'm honored to have a chance to speak with you and your family this year. Recently, we learnt our governments working concert have created a system of worldwide mass suveillance watching everything we do.
Britian George Orwell warned us the danger of this kind of information. The types of collection in the book- microphones, video cameras, TVs that watched us are nothing comparable we have avaiable today. We have sensors in our pockets that tracks us everywhere we go.
Think about what this means, the privacy of every average person. A child born today will grow up with no conception of privacy at all. They will never know what it means to have a private moment of themselves,an unrecorded, unrealized thought. And that's the problem, because privacy matters. Privacy is what else that determines who we are and who we want to be.
The conversation occurent today will determine developing trust we can play in both the technology that surrounds us and government their regulates. Together we can find a better balance and mass suveillance, and remind the government if they really want to know how we feel, asking is always cheaper than spying.
For everyone there listen, thank you and Merry Christmas!
