今天是DNS解析服务商OpenDNS上线的第一个周年,收到了OpenDNS发送的邮件.OpenDNS不但能提供准确的DNS解析,还可以自动帮用户纠正地址的拼写错误,还可帮助用户屏蔽所谓的“钓鱼网站”.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We don't plan to send email to all OpenDNS users often, but the last
couple months have moved fast for us and we've launched a lot of new
features. Since we know you don't all read the blog, we just wanted to
keep you up to date with the great things we've got going on here.

We've been told we seem mature for our age. But did you know today is
only our first birthday? You helped us rocket to the honored position
of world's fastest growing DNS service. Here's to you smarty pants --

easier to navigate. We're working hard to make sure our second year is

2. What's New with OpenDNS?

Are you using OpenDNS to its full potential? Over the last couple
months we've been busy delivering features that let you better manage
and control your Internet experience. If you're not yet up to speed,
here's a quick overview:

 * Domain Blocking -- Many of you asked for a simple way to block a
  single domain on your network. With OpenDNS, now you can. You might
  have complex firewalls and other gear but they don't easily do the
  simple task of blocking myspace.com. We're glad to offer this
  service, and thousands of you have taken advantage of it. Oh yeah,
  it's free.

 * Adult Site Blocking -- If there was one complaint we got about domain
  blocking it was that we didn't offer a list of adult sites to block.
  Good news - now we do. We teamed up with our friends at St. Bernard
  Software to provide an accurate and easy way to block adult sites on
  your network. Oh yeah, it's free too.

3. David Ulevitch in the New York Times

You and I have known it all along, but now the rest of the world does,
too - "When an Internet-connected computer or router is configured by
adding OpenDNS.com's two numbers...OpenDNS makes it possible to
access Web sites faster."

Those words are from a New York Times profile on our CEO, David
Ulevitch, that published yesterday. Iconic journalist John Markoff
authored the piece. DNS can be tough to explain, but Markoff did a
fabulous job.

4. Have you thanked your SysAdmin lately?
==============================================================

Odds are you're a techy and well aware SysAdmin Appreciation Day is just
two weeks away. Most of the world has no clue, so OpenDNS is celebrating
all month long, laboring to get you the kudos you deserve. During July
we're announcing a challenge every Monday on our blog - this week the
task is composing a haiku about what it means to be a sysadmin. Winners
are announced on the blog on Fridays.

We feel so strongly you should be shown sysadmin love on SysAdmin
Appreciation Day, we'll even remind your boss that the holiday is fast
approaching. Shoot an email to [email protected] and give us the
first name and email address of the person who needs reminding.

Oh, and if you're not a sysadmin, don't forget to remember: July 27 is
SysAdmin Appreciation Day. Gifts containing caffeine are good.
