Google Gears是Google开发的开源浏览器扩展，现在推出移动版了。目前为止，Google Gears只用于Windows平台，针对其Google Reader、Google Docs、Gmail及Calendar的离线版产品。
3月5日，Google宣布Google Gears移动版。意味着Google Gears进入移动市场了，不过目前仅支持Windows Mobile 5/6平台(其实6.1平台也可以安装，我的就是)的IE。安装时，访问gears.google.com，会自动判断平台和浏览器。
据悉，Google Gears移动版就像在Windows IE下一样，可以进入离线模式，以便在不在线时使用相关功能。
有分析认为，Google以后会支持更多的平台，因为从市场份额上看，Windows Mobile远不及Symbian。当然，Google Gears for mobile最终的重头戏仍然会在Google自家的Android平台上。
