What’s included
At this time, Windows OneCare Beta includes antivirus and firewall protection, an automated PC tune-up, and backup and restore functionality. We will be adding additional features and functionality throughout the beta period. Please note that anti-spyware protection is not included in this first version of the beta, but is planned for inclusion at a later date.
Beta user guidelines: Get green and stay green
(Please read BEFORE you install Windows OneCare)
Windows OneCare is built on the goal that protecting your PC should be easy and intuitive. The interface and workflow have been designed around one simple concept: get green and stay green. Your Windows OneCare status can be green, yellow, or red. Green means your status is good and Windows OneCare has not detected anything you should do to improve the overall health of your computer. Yellow means that there is an action you should take to better protect or maintain your PC's health. Red means that your computer or its contents are at risk. You can easily determine your status through the Windows OneCare icon in the bottom right of your computer screen, or by opening up the Windows OneCare application. Use Windows OneCare to help you get green and stay green.

We are here to help! You can find answers to most of your questions or problems in the Windows OneCare Help Center (beta.windowsonecare.com/support). If you can't find an answer on your own in the Help Center, Windows OneCare Support Professionals are ready to assist you. You can get unlimited free access to the Support Professionals through the Help Center via e-mail, online chat, and phone.
Send us feedback
Send us your comments and suggestions by using the Submit a Bug tool on beta.microsoft.com. During the beta, we'll process each submission to help us improve our product, and we'll respond to as many issues as possible. Please also take the time to complete all surveys and targeted testing scenarios; your input helps us make the product better!
Beta participation instructions
Everything you need to participate in the Windows OneCare Beta, including installation instructions, is just a few minutes away! Please follow the instructions below to start your Windows OneCare experience now:
- Go to beta.microsoft.com.
- Sign in using the same Microsoft® Passport Network credentials that you used to nominate yourself for the beta program. [email protected]
- Click the Windows OneCare Live icon at the bottom of the page.
- Complete the short Pre-Program Survey, then read through and accept the Licensing Agreement.
- On the left navigation menu of the Welcome page, click Get Windows OneCare for installation instructions.
- Follow the installation instructions. When prompted, enter this unique Product Key:
xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx - Once you’ve finished your installation, please browse beta.microsoft.com to familiarize yourself with the beta resources and reporting tools.
