最新消息透露，Redstone 3可能是Windows 10 Mobile的最后更新。根据西班牙网站OneWindows报道，微软正在讨论几个针对其移动平台的变化，其中包括让Redstone 3成为Windows 10 Mobile操作系统的最后一次更新。

虽然乍一看，微软是准备让这款智能手机平台结束，但有一些其他细节似乎指向战略变化，而不是让Windows 10 Mobile完全消失。首先，Windows 10 Mobile将至少在2018年10月之前仍然会获得微软技术支持。根据微软表示，Windows 10 Mobile build 10586（也称为Threshold 2）将在2018年1月9日之前继续收到更新，而微软将在2018年10月9日之后结束支持Windows 10 Mobile build 14393（Redstone 1）。

而Windows 10 Mobile创作者更新至少在2019年初还能获得微软技术支持，但具体细节将由微软在操作系统推出后宣布。 Redstone 3显然会扩展对Windows 10 Mobile的支持，但同样没有可用的细节。

如果上述报告是准确的，那么Redstone 3将专门专注于改进Windows 10 Mobile UI，性能，加入Continuum，Cortana和其他新功能。微软将让ARM芯片运行完整的Windows 10，并且微软即将推出Surface Phone，利用Continuum连接到外部显示器，Surface Phone可以释放Windows 10的全部功能。
